And while thenewSuicide Squadgame was off to a bit of a rough starton PC, audience size-wise, enough people have been playing it for one completely broken strategy to already surface online. The approach in question revolves around Burn builds, which currently benefit from the fact that their central status effect is bugged, with its damage scaling across Mastery Levels “far beyond what the game was balanced for at launch,” Rocksteady wrote on the shooter’s officialDiscord channel. The nextSuicide Squad: Kill the Justiceleague update will address this issue, consequently making higher Mastery Levels much more challenging for Burn builds.

Player Rankings Will Be Split Into Pre- and Post-Burn-Nerf Leaderboards

Rocksteady used its announcement as an opportunity to “applaud” the players for “breaking the game,” stating that the ridiculous Mastery Levels some have achieved with their broken Burn builds will be immortalized. To that end, the upcoming update will introduce another leaderboard for players in the post-Burn-nerf era in which allSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice LeagueAfflictionswill hopefully work as intended.

The next patch will also include a few other changes that are geared toward rebalancing the shooter’s endgame offerings. Specifically, Rocksteady will make enemy health scale less aggressively past Mastery Level 50, with that change promising to make the late-game grind more bearable. At the same time, The Heat Wave’s Molten Skin and The Turtle’s Shell are getting nerfed because the developer concluded they made the game too easy due to how easy their effects are to trigger; instead of providing immunity, both items will offer 90% damage reduction following the next patch.
