While the game has seen infrequent re-releases, theTactics Ogrefranchise has yet to see any versions on modern consoles. Now, a recent PlayStation Store leak has seemingly confirmed the existence of the rumored TRPG.

An erroneous listing on the PlayStation Store has apparently revealed several minor details aboutSquare Enix’s rumored upcoming TRPG. Along with the obvious implication of the game releasing on PlayStation, the leak has revealed both the game’s icon art and promotional art along with confirming the title asTactics Ogre: Reborn. While the listing did not reveal any information about pricing or a release window, the art provided with the game suggestsTactics Ogre: Rebornwill be another remake of the original game.

Despite the apparent existence ofTactics Ogre: Rebornwithin the PlayStation database, Square Enix has yet to make any official announcement regarding the game. However,Tactics Ogre’s apparent remake would not be the first TRPG remake from Square-Enix to be leaked in recent months. A major GeForce Now leak from last November also suggested the developer may be working ona remaster ofFinal Fantasy Tactics. However, much likeTactics Ogre, aFinal Fantasy Tacticsremake is also currently unconfirmed by Square Enix.

A remake ofTactics OgreorFinal Fantasy Tacticswould likely be a welcome addition to Square Enix’s library for fans of the TRPG genre. Similarly toTactics Ogre, its spiritual successor inFinal Fantasy Tacticshas also fallen dormant in recent years. TheFinal Fantasyspinoff has not seen a new title sinceFinal Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lionsreleased for the PSP as an enhanced port ofTacticsin 2007. Between the rumored remakes and new IPThe DioField Chroniclerevealed earlier this year, Square Enix looks to make a triumphant return to the TRPG genre.
