It has been a little under two years since the release of The Behemoth’sPit Peopleand since then, fans have been wondering what the popular indie studio has in store for them next. It seems thatThe Behemothhas finally answered that question in a recent livestream where the company showcased a small trailer for its upcoming game.
The Behemoth is a popular independent game studio that has been around since the early 2000s. The company’s first game,Alien Hominid,was met with widespread critical success. Since then, the company’s primary focus has been to bring back old-school video game genres with a level of originality that only The Behemoth could accomplish.Castle Crashers, The Behemoth’s second game, dominated the gaming market when it was first released and its continued longevityhas broughtCastle Crashersto the current generation of game consoles.

Needless to say, The Behemoth has earned its place in the hearts and minds of video game enthusiasts, so when the company held a livestream to unveil its next project, fans were immediately excited, considering that there hasn’t been any news regarding The Behemoth since the release ofPit Peopleback in 2018. During the livestream, The Behemoth showed off a small, forty second trailer of their new game:Alien Hominid Invasion.
Based on the trailer and all of the information that The Behemoth was willing to provide, it appears that this new game will be a revamped version ofThe Behemoth’s first game,Alien Hominid,which was released back in 2004. This version of the game will feature new gameplay mechanics and progression systems.
It’s quite possible that some fans might be let down by this news, considering that this is not exactly a new game, but rather a new take on an older game. After all of the original games to have been released by The Behemoth, such asCastle Crashers, Pit People,andBattleblock Theater,it seems rather safe to just remake an older game, essentially.
Having said this,Alien Hominidis an old game that was released just under two decades ago. Since that time, there’s likely thousands of people that have no clue that this game even existed, so this new version will likely introduce so many new people to this cult classic game. Hopefully, this addition ofAlien Hominidwill possess the same longevity and popularity asCastle Crashers.
