It’s not fair that the vehicles ofFallout 4are only reserved for the pompous members of the Brotherhood of Steel. After all, the players are the ones who saved the Commonwealth through their tenacious determination to find their son, Shaun; a vehicle reward ought to be in order. Since the game never granted that, it was up to theFallout 4community to come up with functioningvehicle mods.
These range from practical crotch rockets to flying superweapons, and they all allow players one sure thing: to cruise the grimy ruins of the Commonwealth while blasting The Ink Spots on Diamond City Radio. The game is a blast to play through, and it’s a shame that the next-gen update was so poorly implemented that almost every mod for the game is broken in some form or the other. Thankfully, there are simple ways to boot up an earlier version of the game that is compatible with most mods, including a bunch of vehicle mods that are pretty engaging and add more variety to the game.
13Lootable Cars - Exiguous

Given the sheer number of broken-down cars in the Commonwealth, it’s odd that nothing can be salvaged from these wrecks. Sure, it can be believed that raiders scrapped everything there was to find in these vehicles but to say the same for every broken car in sight is a hard pill to swallow.
With this simple mod, a bunch of these car models in the game can be looted to obtain valuable raw materials. It’s a simple change, but does wonders when it comes to heightening the game’s immersion.
12Lootable Vertibirds

Vertibirds are some of the most intimidating aircraft in the game, with the bulk of these skyborne vehicles residing with the Brotherhood of Steel. Given how valuable these aircraft are, most people would assume that the wrecks of these vehicles would harbor some valuable loot indeed.
Instead, players are rewarded with the grand total of nothing if they attempt to loot a destroyed vertibird. Suffice it to say, this mod takes care of this immersion-breaking issue and lets players salvage valuable raw material from these wrecks, which is something that most sane-minded people would do in a post-apocalyptic scenario where almost every resource is vital.
11Humvees Of Fallout

The Humvee is one of the most iconic vehicles that looks pretty intimidating, and the thought of replicating this look inFallout 4is a genuinely interesting one. While this mod isn’t exactly lore-friendly, it’s perfect for players wanting to bring a bit of variety into a game that could really do with more vehicles.
Riding and customizing a post-apocalyptic Humvee is pretty engaging, giving players another way to traverse the Commonwealth instead of just walking and running around. It’s a great mod perfect for players who’ve always questioned why players could never drive a vehicle in the game.
10Flyable Personal Vertibird

Show those pesky Brotherhood bigots how to fly in style with the Flyable Personal Vertibird. The mod adds a fully functioning and even craftable Vertibird that uses the movement keys to fly. It’s not just for players, this VTOL aircraft also has plenty ofseats for companions.
It also has guns in case players want to make the Brotherhood dance with bullets using Paladin Danse as one of the companion gunners. In hindsight, this thing canmake the game too easyso it’s recommended for subsequent playthroughs, otherwise finding Shaun might be too easy.
9Driveable Motorcycle Mod

Of course, for those who want a more therapeutic ride in the Commonwealth that doesn’t involve seeing all the muck below, then a Harley motorcycle might be the more sensible option. The Drivable Motorcycle Mod adds that opportunity to the game, and it also comes in different styles and colors.
There’s a clean, futuristic look and there’s also a rustic phase for the bike. All of these customization options are available via a motorcycle workbench which the mod also adds to the game. The motorcycle comes complete with the whirring noise though don’t expect the physics to be accurate.
8APC Home On the Move

Ifsettlement life isn’t appealingto the players, they’re not to blame— Preston Garvey is with his obscene laziness. Luckily, players get more options for their dwellings with the APC Home on the Move mod. It provides an actual, drivable armored personnel carrier in the game that also functions as a house for players.
There are crafting stations, workbenches, and lots of other functions that can be found in settlements. Moreover, the APC requires fuel scattered all over the Commonwealth so it doesn’t really provide an overwhelming advantage to be considered a cheat, if that’s important for players.
7The Red Wave V2 (Far Harbor Update) - Personal Traveling Boat

Then again, the Commonwealth isn’t exactly a pretty sight, some players might prefer the calm of the extremely irradiated seas with fresh maritime winds that exfoliate the whole face off. Boats are thus the ideal vehicles for such a lifestyle inFallout 4.
The Red Wave V2 mod gives that chance for players to become captains, though it’s just a mere tugboat. It’s crude and rusty though the word that players might be looking foris “lore-friendly.” In any case, the boat features a complete suite of amenities and more immersive water travel.
6RaiderQuadBike

This thing looks more menacing than a suit of power armor. It’s drivable, of course, but like the motorcycle and other land vehicles, don’t expect the physics to be a good representation of video game quad bikes. It looks awesome for screenshots, though.

The most obvious in-demand vehicles apart from the Vertibird inFallout 4would be the good old-fashioned cars. The cars inFallout 4’s atompunk world are quite sleek and premium and players can have their own restored versions of such cars, thanks to the help of Drivable Cars Redux.
The mod adds a drivable and working version of every single broken-down car in the game. That’s a lot of options for players to choose from. There are also available customization choices such as spinning tires (rims), storage trunks, headlights, and other personal touches.
4Long Use Jetpack

The vanilla jetpack inFallout 4can be a bit disappointing as it uses AP as fuel and thus flies too low; needless to say, it won’t let players cosplay as Mandalorians in a perfect functional representation. So the Long use Jetpack mod fixes that issue.
The mod removes the AP requirement for flying the jetpack and also increases the height. However, players ought to note that they still can’t fly too high since the game will reset them if they stray too close to the sun, it’s best to take lessons from Icarus.
