Episode 6 ofThe Last of Uswowed many viewers and fans of the games thanks to a heartfelt reunion and teases of what’s to come for the series, however, that entry also contained a couple of minor editing mistakes that have now been corrected on HBO Max.In “Kin”, the episode that sees Joel and Ellie arrive to Jackson County, Wyoming, where the former reunites with his brother Tommy, a few keen-eyed observers spotted a shot whereThe Last of Us’film crew could be seen on screen in the snowy background of what is supposed to be completely desolate location. Similarly, an even more noticeable error, and one that surprisingly didn’t go as viral, saw a scene where Ellie meets the horse “Shimmer” miss out on editing a possible animal coordinator’s hand from showing up in the background as Bella Ramsey caresses her new equine friend.RELATED:Why The Last of Us Episode 7 is Likely to Be Review-BombedAs reported by Naughty Dog Central (@NaughtyNDC), an account dedicated to all thingsThe Last of UsandUncharted, both errors have been fixed in HBO Max’s cut of the episode, although some users reported the mistakes are still present in places where the series is not exclusively distributed by HBO. While the tweet refers to the “glove” no longer being visible in Ellie’s scene, that blunder actually featured a naked human hand underneath the horse’s head, likely there to appease the animal for Ramsey’s safety as can be seen in the before and after comparison from the tweets below.

The Last of Us’sixth episode appears to have been particularly affected by these omissions as some people speculated that the scenes onceJoel and Ellie arrive at the college campuscould have also seen some unwanted bystanders walking past the windows, though this could have been an intended effect considering the events that unfold. At the time of writing no errors of this kind had been called out in this week’sThe Last of Us’DLC-inspired entry, “Left Behind.”

In the past, bothGame of ThronesandHouse of the Dragonhave incurred in similar gaffes, so it’s clear these types of editing errors are not above shows with the massive production budgets and efforts that HBO tends to put out.InThe Last of Usit took more episodesfor this to occur, though now that fans might be extra alert to any possible blunders, the series’ filming and editing teams are likely to be more careful for the remainder of season 1.
