Scattered acrossThe Last of Us Part I’s post-apocalyptic United States are copies of Savage Starlight, the comic series that Ellie becomes invested in after stealing an issue from Bill in Chapter 4. From Pittsburgh onwards, Joel can find these comic books, which offer a little blurb of flavor text and contribute towards unlocking the trophy “Endure and Survive.”This guide will show players where all comic books in Pittsburgh can be foundto assist in attainingThe Last of Us Part I’sPlatinum Trophy.
Players can check their comic book collection progress by opening the Chapters section on the main menu and looking at the collectible readout on the right side of the screen.

Pittsburgh | Alone and Forsaken
Comic 1 of 2 | Volume 3: Force Carrier
As mentioned before,Ellie finds her first issue in a cutscene at the end of Chapter 4, so players don’t start collecting comic books before she and Joel arrive in Pittsburgh via thecar they acquire in Bill’s Town.
Comic 2 of 2 | Volume 1: Termination Shock
This lengthy chapter begins with a mandatory combat section where Ellie and Joel are ambushed on the road through the city. After defeating the Hunters, the duo makes their way through a building littered with the stolen possessions of unsuspecting victims. Once they emerge,Joel will point out the large yellow bridge in the distancebefore jumping down onto the street below.Directly to the right is a busthat bisects the road;head inside and find the second comic on the floor at the back.
Pittsburgh | Hotel Lobby
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 6: Accretion
Eventually, Joel and Ellie will make their way through a hotel and become separated. Upon reuniting,a cutscene will play with Elliesaving Joel’s life. After it ends,head up the ladder Joel was previously kicked from and take a left; turn left again and enter a lounge area where Joel can shimmy across some broken floorboards tofind the comic on a couch side table.
Pittsburgh | Escape the City
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 10: Deep Phase
After avoiding a particularly persistent APC and shimmying along some apartment ledges,Joel will vault a window, and a cutscene will playwhere the protagonists meet Henry and Sam. After an introductory cutscene, leave the apartment with Joel’s newfound allies andhead down a flight of stairs. Before reaching the bottom,Joel can find a shiv doorleading to another apartment;the comic can be found on a desk in one of the bedrooms.
The Suburbs | Sewers
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 11: Anti Particles
This chapter begins with the group washed up on a beach following a heated confrontation betweenJoel and Henry.A blue and white sailboat stands outon this otherwise featureless shore, beckoning the player to board it. Climbing up top,the first comic of this chapter can be found on the dashboard of the bridge.
The Suburbs | Suburbs
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 12: Messenger Particle
The only other comic in this chapter isfound after the group escapesthe Clicker-infested sewersand enters the titular Pittsburgh suburbs. Offering a break in the action, along this street are a number of explorable houses;this comic can be found on a desk in an upstairs bedroomin one of the houses Joel can come across.
Tommy’s Dam | Hydroelectric Dam
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 5: Foreign Element
At the start of the chapter, Joel and Ellie are traveling along a dilapidated Jackson road.Upon reaching a landslide, the pair will jump down and walk along the riverside. After a short while, they’ll reach the bottom of the collapsed road under the bridge and seean upturned car to the right, beside which Joel can find a comic.
Tommy’s Dam | Ranch House
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 12: Zero Point
The other comic will be found a while later after the dam is attacked and Ellie runs away. UponJoel and Tommyreaching Ellie’s hideaway, the player can find the second comic of this chapteron the windowsill of an upstairs bedroom.
The University | Go Big Horns
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 7: Free Radicals
The only comic in this chapter is found as soon as the player is, quite literally, given the reins. At the very beginning,turn Callus around and head in the opposite directionofthe University of Eastern Colorado. Eventually, Joel will come across a mess of cars bordering the playable area;the comic can be found on the back seat of a white car.
Lakeside Resort | The Hunt
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 4: Uncertainty
This chapter sees the player take control of Ellie for the first time while she’s out gathering food. Hunting a deer through the woods, she willtrack the animal to a mining camp. After entering the wooden building,head into a small room on the leftto find volume four inside a desk drawer.
Lakeside Resort | Cabin Resort
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 8: Negentropy
Later, Ellie will be engaged in a chase on horseback. When she loses Callus, players will have to fight their way through some ofDavid’s Huntersandshimmy along a broken walkway leading to a collapsed pipe. After crawling through, head up the stairs and find the next comicsitting on a bench overlooking the lake.
Bus Depot | Highway Exit
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 9: Precipitate
AfterJoel and Ellie see the giraffesand a short cutscene plays,head down some stairs to an area with a chain link fence. Before leaving the building,enter the nearby bathroomon the right to see the comic on the floor next to a skeleton.
Bus Depot | Underground Tunnel
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 13: Catalysis
The penultimate comic of the game is found in the subway after getting by theinfected area with three Bloaters. After swimming through a submerged bus, Joel will surface on the other side andclimb up a semi to drop a ladder down for Ellie; volume thirteen can be found on the left side of the tunnelatop some ventilation shafts on the truck.
Jackson | Epilogue
Comic 1 of 1 | Volume 14: Singularity
There are no comics to befound in The Firefly Lab, though one final comic can be collected when players regain control of Ellie in the last chapter of the game. After Joel helps her through the wire fence, the pair will walk through a small forested area. Heading to the right, Ellie can come acrossa rusted truck in which a comic sitson the driver’s seat.
