Crossover fanworks are common in video game communities, and one of the most popular places (besidesMinecraft)to build locations from real life and other games isThe Sims 4.While the life sim isn’t primarily known for building, some fans will spend dozens of hours recreating locations likeSkyhold fromDragon Age: Inquisition.
Skyhold is a location that manyDragon Age: Inquisitionplayers will know well, as the mountain-bound fortress serves as the headquarters for the Inquisition and the home base for the player. WhileThe Sims 4andDragon Age: Inquisitionare very different games, they’re both popular, and it’s not surprising that some people have a passion for both.

Reddit user StarshinePrince posted a photoset of the fortress as built inThe Sims 4to r/sims, and then crossposted it to r/dragonage so that both fandoms could share in viewing the creation. The photoset has nine different photos of the outside and inside parts of Skyhold, and it’s clear that StarshinePrince spent a ton of time cross-referencing screenshots of the iconicInquisitionfortress. Of course, players can spend a lot of time in Skyhold in that game, so even small details in theSimsbuildlike suits of armor and candles are easier to notice and appreciate.
The original poster says they spent at least thirty hours on the project, and several commentators noticed little details that StarshinePrince took the time to include in the build. One user asked if StarshinePrince fixed the hole in the wall, referencing an annoying hole near Skyhold’s war room that frustrates many players by being unable to fix even if they fully upgrade the fortress. However, true to theInquisitionlocation, this Redditor did include many of the war damage to this version of Skyhold, showing another example ofThe Sims 4fan creator’s attention to detail.
In the original post, StarshinePrince notes that several game packs were used, and that the build relies heavily on CC (Custom Content). Some people dislike having todownloadThe Sims 4CCalong with builds, but the OP included over a gigabyte of CC in the zip file with the build.
Another commentator asked if downloading the build would include thecontroversialDragon Age Inquisitioncharacter Cullen, and the OP responded that they’d upload a Cullen Sim to their gallery soon.TS4fan creators like this one often specialize in builds or Create-a-Sim, but many people are skilled in both. Cullen fans will have to try their hand at making him themselves in CAS or keeping an eye out on StarshinePrince.
