The WitcherSeason 1 told the stories of Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), and Cirilla, also known as Ciri of Cintra (Freya Allan). These stories were told with different timelines, which were there for a reason, but understandably confused some fans. However, now the characters' timelines have converged. Geralt and Ciri have met up. And Yennefer might eventually join them inThe WitcherSeason 2.
During season 1, Geralt was mostly a loner. Although occasionally, people like Yennefer or Geralt’s bard friend Jaskier would get through his walls, for the most part, he kept them up. However, Geralt might show a softer side inThe WitcherSeason 2. With Geralt becoming a bit softer, some fans might be wondering: will this make him a good father figure? Ciri certainly needs and deserves one.

Geralt is definitely going to make different decisionsinThe WitcherSeason 2 than he did in season 1. Ciri will likely be a huge part of that. Is it possible that the Witcher has a soft, nurturing side? Is Geralt more vulnerable than he appears? It seems so. However, will Geralt be a good father figureto Ciri? That’s a harder question to answer. Though answering it is possible. First, however, it is important to understand Geralt’s character going intoThe WitcherSeason 2. During the events of season 1 ofThe Witcher, Geralt mostly keeps everyone away.

He doesn’t let many people get close. In Netflix’s version ofThe Witcher, he absolutely does not seem to want a child of surprise. However, of course, because of Jaskier –at least in Geralt’s opinion – he ends up having one. Throughout the first season,Geralt is mostly avoiding his destiny. He’s throwing himself into his work and trying to distract himself from what the future holds. However, he doesn’t entirely succeed. Destiny cannot be put on hold forever, after all. At the end of season 1, Geralt meets Ciri. He realizes that she is indeed his destiny. The show flashes back to Renfri talking about the girl in the woods being Geralt’s destiny.
And where do Geralt and Ciri meetin the end? In the woods. Fans might be unsure how and why Renfri knew, but perhaps it will be explained inThe WitcherSeason 2. Even if it isn’t, that flashback only makes it clearer that Ciri is Geralt’s destiny. Because of this, however, they’re likely to start offas somewhat reluctant companions. They both know that destiny played a role in bringing them together, but they don’t really understand why. Geralt is used to working alone, and Ciri herself has become more independent since the fall of Cintra. Both characters are going to need to take time to get used to each other. However, that does not mean that Geralt can’t be a good father figure to Ciri inThe WitcherSeason 2. It just means that their relationship will take time to develop.
And that will be all for the better.Geralt might be a rather unconventional father figure, especially for a young girl like Ciri. He’s a bit rough around the edges, but fans know he has a good heart. And that is what will make him a good father figure to Ciri in the end.It might take time for Geralt to masterbeing a father figure inThe WitcherSeason 2. Yet, he will master it, especially since he and Ciri will likely bond. Geralt will respect and value Ciri, and that will make him a good father figure as well. He might be a bit overprotective, which will probably frustrate Ciri, at least for a while. Yet, in the end, she’ll know his intentions are good.
Geralt’s good heart, his respect for his childof surprise, and his protective and nurturing nature will all come together to make him a good father figure. Albeit a bit of a reluctant one. However, not every fan ofThe Witcherwill agree. Some might thinkGeralt will not be a good father figureinThe WitcherSeason 2. Or will not be interested inhis relationship with Ciri. However, it does seem that there can be a convincing argument made in Geralt’s favor. After all, he is, at his core, a person with integrity. The WitcherSeason 2 will probably prove that. Fans already can see Geralt’s good heart. It will just be made more clear to them inThe WitcherSeason 2. Geralt is already protective of the few people he cares about, such as Yennefer and Jaskier.
Ciri will just bring out moreof that side of him. He isn’t really that nurturing in season 1, but with Geralt set to be softer inThe WitcherSeason 2, it’s a definite possibility he will gain that trait. And many fans are likely looking forward to seeing a different side to Geralt and him being a father figure to Ciri.Hopefully, for Ciri’s sake, he will indeed make a good one. There area lot of promising signsthat he will.
