Turtle Beach has been riding high with its Stealth 600 brand of wireless gaming headsets for a while now, but withnext-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series Xright around the corner, the company has given the line a little upgrade. The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 V2 gaming headset will be available on July 03, 2025 for PS4 gamers, with an Xbox One version to follow in late September.

As the name implies, the Stealth 600 V2 is a refresh for the headset and not a complete reinvention. There are smart changes made to both the design of the headset and the features it supports, but nothing too radical has been done to scare away fans of the current line. Really, one of the biggest selling points of the V2 line is that the headsets are designed to becompatible with the upcoming PS5and Xbox Series X. Game Rant was able to test out the PS4 version of the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 V2 after using the V1 for about a month and it’s easy to see where the latter model is a step above its predecessor. Whether it’s upgrading to the new model or just looking for a quality gaming headset, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 V2 hits all the important notes.

Audio on the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 V2 is top-notch and there are a handful of listening available. The 50mm speakers deliver impressive positional audio that is crisp and clear, but users can tune things further if they choose. As with the V1, the V2 offers audio presets that can boost specific audio qualities like bass, vocals, or treble. Even without fiddling with the presets, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 V2 sounds great and there isn’t any distortion at higher volumes.

There is also a toggle for Turtle Beach’s Superhuman Hearing setting that highlights the more important audio elements of a game. For example, the setting can help players get a read on wherefootsteps are coming from in aCall of Duty: Warzonematch. It’s a fun feature that is beneficial in certain instances, but the headset performs perfectly in its basic modes.

The one nitpick to be had with the V2’s mode selection versus the V1 is that the new model replaces the voice cues for each mode with numbered beeps. It’s a small change but it makes it much harder to tell which mode users are rotating to unless they have memorized the beeps. Those who don’t fiddle with the modes won’t even notice or care about the detail, but it is worth pointing out for those who have grown accustomed to the way the V1 handles listening mode selection.

The design of the Stealth 600 V2 is not too dissimilar from the V1 but with a sleeker form factor. Where the V1 featured a more rounded design, the V2 has sharper angles that looks a little more like new tech. Users can adjust the headband to fit their head, but the headset itself is snug without any uncomfortable pressure points. After lengthy play sessions, we never felt any discomfort from the headset or areas where the device was pressing too hard on the head or ears. And if you’re someone who wears glasses, the ear cups conform around frames rather than pressing them inward.

On the V1, the headset’s microphone swiveled into the base of the left ear cup when not in use, but it was still a bit noticeable. On the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 V2, the microphone seamlessly blends in with the ear cup to preserve that sleek headphone look. Most importantly, the microphone on the V2 is longer so it picks up the user’s voice much better without adding too much background noise.

It’s also worth mentioning that the wireless USB connector for the PS4 version is a lot smaller on the V2. It barely juts out from the front or the back of the console, which is both a good and a bad thing. For aesthetic purposes it is great, but it also means that the connector/dongle is a lot easier to lose should users disconnect it.

Overall, the Turtle Beach Stealth V2 headset is an improvement over its predecessor in terms of design. It’s minimalist with enough style to fit any gamers' setup, but it’s not as ostentatious as some of the other gaming headsets out there. The Stealth 600 V1 was already a nice looking headset but the V2 is a step above.

Arguably, the biggest selling point for the Stealth 600 V2 is its presumedPS5-compatibility. Turtle Beach has designed and expects the headset to be ready for Sony’s next-gen console, so gamers can invest in a worthwhile headset well before the holiday season.

But even if gamers are only focused on PS4 for the time being, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 V2 is an incredible audio option that delivers high-quality audio in a comfortable package. There was little to complain about with the V1 but the V2 makes a handful of smart changes that make the headset even better.
