Pokemon GO’s Halloween 2023 Event Will Likely Be a Treat for Players
From what this seasonal event has offeredPokemon GOplayers in the past, it’s likely that players can expect a variety of treats with minimal tricks from the Halloween Event 2023. This event is planned to take place over the course of two weeks from October 19-31, meaning the stage is set for a lot of spooky content to make its way to the game during this time.PastPokemon GOHalloween Eventshave followed a reliable formula, so players can look towards those to get an idea of what to expect from this year’s event.
ThePokemon GOHalloween Event 2022is a good example of the template the Halloween Event for 2023 will likely follow and could foreshadow which critters will be in the spotlight during this year’s event. Last year, players could find a variety of Ghost and Dark types with increased shiny odds like Murkrow, Sableye, and Galarian Yamask as well as other creepy mons like Zubat and Spinarak, and Raids featuring Altered Form Giratina and Mega Banette. The second week of the event introduced mons with special Spooky Festival costumes including Vulpix, Pumpkaboo, and Gengar, and it shifted Raids to feature Origin Form Giratina as a potential Raid Boss.
While it’s likely that a lot of the same Ghost and Dark type mons will be the main spawns during this event, there is the possibility that Raid Bosses could see a shake up. Guzzlord and Darkrai are already confirmed to be potential 5-Star Raid Bosses during the dates of this event, as well as Mega Gengar and Mega Banette for Mega Raids, but there could be more unannounced mons who might appear only during the course of the event. Week two of the event will also include aTeam GO RocketTakeover, which will likely feature a new Shadow Pokemon appearing in Raids.
Possibly the most exciting element of the Halloween 2023 Event is the potential for new mons to be added toPokemon GO. Now that Gen 9 critters have started appearing in the game, the Halloween Event would be the perfect opportunity to introduceGreavard and Houndstoneto the game as new Ghost types that could be found during the event. Other exciting possibilities include new cosmetics for player avatars, spooky decor throughout the game like the Lavender Town music that was included in last year’s event, and even special research tasks that have the potential to yield more rewards for players participating in the event.
