Summary
The Skyline Valley update wasFallout 76’s first-ever map expansion. The update brought in new enemies, quests, rewards, and, of course, new weapons. While fans were disappointed with the last-minute downgrade tothe Ticket To Revenge, many were pleasantly surprised at how powerful and useful the Red Terror is.
This light machine gun (LMG) is fast and powerful, and it has a unique look to it. It’s also fairly easy to get, which makes it a great weapon for low to mid-level players. Whether the player wants to display the weapon at their CAMP or use it in combat, Red Terror is proving to be quite popular.

How To Get The Red Terror
Complete The Dangerous Pastimes Event
Players have the chance to receive the Red Terror asa reward for completing Dangerous Pastimes. This is arandom public eventthat will pop up sometimes. Every 20 minutes, a random public event will take place on every server. Each time a public event appears, there’s a chance for it to be Dangerous Pastimes.
For the most part, public events happen on the hour, 20 minutes past the hour, and 20 minutes to the hour. If the player is looking for the event specifically, then they can hop servers in the hopes of coming across it.

If the player is still having no luck, then they can purchase the weapon from another player either through player vendors or via online trading forums likeMarket76.
Decent Legendary Effects
An Efficient Combination
While they aren’tthe best legendary effectsin the game, the Red Terror’s effects work quite well, especially for full-health builds. Its legendary effects can be seen below:
The Furious effect works well on light machine guns due to their rapid-fire rate. Since it is a very fast-firing weapon, most players won’t be using it inside V.A.T.S., so the Hitman’s effect can be used to inflict additional damage on bosses like the Scorchbeast Queen and Earle Williams. The Swift effect helps because weapons like light machine guns tend to have a fairly long reload time.

Double The Ammo Capacity
More Bullets, More Damage
Standard light machine gunshave an ammo capacity of 75.The Red Terror holds 150 bullets in a magazine. The only light machine guns that hold more bullets than the Red Terror are ones with the quad effect.
But 150 bullets per magazine is plenty for this weapon. It’s enough to take down multiple enemies and even some really tough enemies before having to reload. Also, thanks to the Swift effect, when the player does need to reload, they’ll do it 15% faster than they’d normally be able to.

If the player is using the Speed Demon mutation or the Lock and Load perk card, then the reload speed will be increased further, making it almost as fast as weapons like the Fixer and the Handmade in terms of reload speed.
Minimal Recoil
Great Outside Of V.A.T.S.
Just like the regular light machine guns, the Red Terror has very little recoil when compared to other heavy weapons. It’s possible to fire this weapon from the hip without being thrown out of position by the recoil.
It’s also pretty easy to keep the weapon steady while aiming and firing, as long as the player is pulling back against the recoil slightly. While the weapon isn’t ideal forV.A.T.S. users, those who prefer firing the natural way will have no problems getting consecutive hits against enemies.

Inflicts A Fair Amount Of Damage
Take Down Tough Enemies With Ease
While the weapon does the same base damage as the standard light machine gun,its legendary effects can make the Red Terror inflict up to 70% extra damage. This is great for taking down tanky enemies like Fog Crawlers, Robots, andSuper Mutants.
Also, by using the Heavy Gunner perks, players can inflict even more damage while using this gun. There are also magazines, foods, and Chems that can boost the damage output of the Red Terror to the point where it can take down enemies in just a couple of shots. Some of the best damage-boosting items can be seen below:

Ammo is Plentiful
Unlikely To Run Out Of Bullets
The Red Terror takes .308 Rounds. It can also be modified to take Ultracite .308 Rounds to inflict a little extra damage. This particular ammo type is commonly sold by other players in their CAMP Vendors for around 1 Cap each. Also, since most enemies drop contextual ammo, the player will constantly be replenishing their ammo stockpile as they kill and loot enemies.
For the most part, downed enemies will drop more than 10 bullets. With the right perks and consumables, it’s possible to kill enemies with 2-to 4 well-placed shots. So, more often than not, players will find themselves gathering extra ammo with every kill.

That said, if the player is in a situation where theyneed ammo urgently, it can be crafted at a Tinker’s Workbench for 5 Gunpowder, 8 Lead, and 12 Steel.
