Season of Discovery isWorld of Warcraft Classic’s most recent experiment that adds class-altering Rune abilities, new world events and raids, and incremental phases, each with a different level cap. Recently,WoW Classicannounced that Season of Discovery was beginning Phase 3soon, but it also began to tease a few things from Phase 4 as well.
One of the new features coming in this future Season of Discovery phase is a big change that Priest players inWorld of Warcraftshould be excited about. According toWoW Classicsenior game producer Josh “Aggrend” Greenfield during a recent preview video, once theWorld of Warcraft ClassicSeason of Discovery level capis raised to level 60, Priests will have a way to unlock the other racial spells from the other races able to choose the class. He couldn’t reveal the method by which this would be done yet, but fans can expect to hear more once Phase 4 gets closer.

InVanilla WoW, each race that could play Priest had two unique spells they unlocked at levels 10 and 20. Blood Elves and Draenei got their own inBurning Crusade, but they went away inWrath of the Lich King, with some being made available to every Priest, and others being removed entirely.Priests inWorld of Warcraft ClassicSeason of Discoverywill soon be able to combine some of these spells together on the same character for the first time in history.
It is hard to say how Priest players will unlock these abilities in Season of Discovery. It is possible they might be acquired similarly to the Skill Books fromWoW ClassicSeason of Discovery Phase 2. However, other fans wonder if they will unlock these spells through the mysterious Shadowy Figure in Season of Discovery – a character many believe to be Xal’atath, theantagonist fromWorld of Warcraft: The War Withinand a figure Priest players fromLegionare well-acquainted with.
Either way, players have some time to speculate before it is added to the game. Season of Discovery Phase 3 begins on April 4, bringing thenew Sunken Temple raid to WoW Classicalong with the Nightmare Incursions PvE world event and a new level cap of 50. Each phase of Season of Discovery has been about eight weeks long, so fans can expect Phase 4 to take place near the end of May or in early June.
