World of Warcraftplayers have largely enjoyed Embers of Neltharion forDragonflight, but there seems to be one major aspect of Patch 10.1 that many find lackluster, tedious, or just plainly bugged. The first major content patch after the launch of thelatestWorld of Warcraftexpansionwas an important update for Blizzard and its developers. The team knew it had to get Embers of Neltharion right, and they knew it had to be done fast.Shadowlandshad a similarly stellar launch compared toDragonflight, but its inaugural season lasted too long, and the content ultimately offered with Chains of Domination set the tone for the remainder of the expansion: one of disappointment and apathy.
The formula for Embers of Neltharion looks a lot like Chains of Domination at first glance, as it expands upon the systems offered in the base expansion while delivering a brand-new zone with a loot catch-up system inspired by Timeless Isle. The underlying systems ofDragonflightare thankfully a lot more fun thanShadowlands, as many fans considerdragonriding inWorld of Warcraftto be a game-changer. Zaralek Cavern may just be a bigger Korthia, but its atmosphere and storyline have players gripped and immersed, instead of bored or frustrated.

That being said,World of Warcraftplayers seem to take issue with the way Fyrakk Assaults work. As one of the Primal Incarnates, Fyrakk is a primary antagonist ofDragonflight, and eager to avenge the death of his sister, he periodically strikes theDragon Isles zones inWorld of Warcraftthrough multi-stage events for players who have completed the third chapter in Embers of Neltharion’s campaign. While the concept sounds great on paper, fans across social media have expressed their discontent with Fyrakk Assaults, finding them to be both convoluted and buggy.
The thread posted by itsallcakes on the official subreddit forWorld of Warcraftoffers valuable feedback into why this piece of content does not resonate with the playerbase. The main criticism levied against Fyrakk Assaults centers around how needlessly complicated the event is, despite occurring in the small Suffusion Camps in Ohn’ahran Plains and the Azure Span. From quest clutter on the zone map, to redundant stages such as collecting crystals to collect keys to open a chest, players feel a more straightforward version of Fyrakk Assaults would have been better received.
In addition to their frustration with its design, Fyrakk Assaults seem to be bugged for many players after the event reaches 100%, as Fyrakk either takes too long to arrive while blazing through the zone, or doesn’t show up at all. While completing an assault awards players with Draconic Treasures and Shadowflame Crests, the experience leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully, Blizzard will take a deeper look into Fyrakk Assaults in the coming weeks, but until then, players can at least enjoy the newAberrus raid inWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflight.
