Summary

World of Warcraftjust announced that players who benefited from the Gulp Frog farm inWoW: Remix: Mists of Pandariawill have their Cloaks of Infinite Potential nerfed, while those who did not can score an easy 40,000 Bronze through a series of quests. These adjustments and improvements mark what is likely to be the conclusion of the frog farming fiasco in theWorld of Warcraftevent.

Shortly afterWoW Remix: Mists of Pandariastarted, players discovered that farming Gulp Frogs on the Timeless Isle was an extremely efficient way of acquiring Bronze and threads for the Cloak of Infinite Potential. However, only a few days later,World of Warcraftnerfed this farming method by removing Lesser Charms of Good Fortune from the frogs' loot tables. What’s more,World of Warcraftlater began tracking characters who farmed frogsvia an internal database update.

Now,World of Warcrafthas revealed the purpose of this tracking, as well as some changes to address the discrepancy between those who did and did not farm. According to theforum post byWoWcommunity manager Kaivax, characters with “an unreasonably large number of Gulp Frogs kills prior to the loot bug fix” will have the power of their Cloak of Infinite Potential “reduced to an amount that a very engaged player could reasonably achieve.” Meanwhile, all other characters will gain access to three milestone quests as they level that reward a total of 40,000 Bronze when completed.

Frog Farming Adjustments in WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria

Considering the most expensivemounts available inWoW Remix: Mists of Pandariacost 38,500 Bronze, this free currency is a big deal. This stipend also seems to be available for each character players create, so these milestone quests also made raising alts to level 70 an incredibly efficient way to pick up rewards from the event.

Unfortunately, this announcement has no good news for fans who cashed in on the Gulp Frog farm, as they miss out on these quests and are having their cloaks nerfed. That said, they get to keep all the other currency they earned – and considering some players were able to accruehundreds of thousands of Bronze inWoW Remix: Mists of Pandariafrom frogs, this change seems like the best middle ground to balance the scales against those who missed out.
