ALegend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomplayers has discovered a useful exploit to make collecting Star Fragments miles easier. Farming techniques arealready present for more common collectibles, but this one should be much appreciated by fans.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis a game built with near-limitless freedom in mind, and with liberty comes plenty of exploits, whether it be accessing areas earlier than intended, destroying tough enemies with no effort, or stockpiling the rarest of collectibles. InTears of the Kingdom’s case, Star Fragments are among the coolest yet hardest to find materials, falling from the sky seemingly at random, only spawning at night, and disappearing from the ground once the sun rises. On top of this, they always fall a great distance from wherever the player is standing, meaning there’s a good chance they will disappear before Link can reach it.

Fortunately, a Redditor named Hunterjet detailed a strategy that allowed them to farm Star Fragments, combining the game’s fast travel and time-passing mechanics. Intended as an alternative to the infamousduplication glitchesTears of the Kingdomis peppered with, this strategy entails warping to the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower (chosen due to a cooking pot sitting beside it), resting until night, launching from the tower, and then diving to the Star Fragment that always spawns in the area. Hunterjet then teleported to the Mayam Shrine up in the sky, diving to the ground below and catching the Star Fragment that spawns in that area, effectively collecting two in a measly two minutes.
By repeating the process, Hunterjet reported that they were able to obtain all 103 Star Fragments required to upgrade every single one ofTears of the Kingdom’s 35 armor sets. They also took the time to list various warp points that work with this strategy, alongside several that don’t, pointing out that players can decide which ones work best for them. One stipulation for this trick, however, is that the player cannot have already snagged a Star Fragment on the same in-game day as when they start this exploit, though this can be remedied by just letting a day pass.
It’s always cool to see gamers find exploits like these, and this farming technique is easily one of the most useful ones inTears of the Kingdomyet. Still, given Nintendo’s tendency topatch out other grinding exploits, perhaps this inventive strategy is not long for this world.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomis available only on the Nintendo Switch.
